About the workshop

Providing a child protective service is a complex, demanding, and emotionally draining job. Making decisions that affect the lives of children and families takes a toll on social workers and supervisors. 

This workshop intends to clarify some of the challenges social workers are experiencing. 

Skill development and acquiring of knowledge will take place through presentations, big group discussions, small group discussions, and doing case studies.

Workshop Content

The workshop consists of 6 modules:

Introductory activities

Module 1: Code of ethics – ethical considerations applicable

Module 2:  Legislation regarding child protection work

Module 3: The child protection social practitioner

Module 4: The social worker and court

Module 5: Supervision

Module 6: Assessment of children

Module 6: Report writing
